RDC chairs to pick representative to NEDA
Davao City (19 January) -- Chairpersons of the Regional Development Councils (RDC) in Mindanao will pick their representative to the board of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA).
In an interview with RDC-XI co-chair Mayor Antonio Antalan of the Island Garden City of Samal he said they will meet in Cagayan de Oro City today (January 19) to select from among themselves their representative to the NEDA board.
He said all chairpersons will be part of the selection process even as he said that they were appointed by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Among the RDC chairpersons who will have the chance to be selected as Mindanao’s representative to the NEDA board are RDC-IX chair Rolando Yebes, Governor of Zamboanga del Norte, co-chair Arsenio Gonzales, Jr., private sector representative; Atty. Jesus V. Ayala, chair RDC-XI, private sector representative, Mayor Antalan, co-chair;
Sylvia Paraguya, RDC-X co-chair, private sector representative; South Cotabato Governor Daisy Fuentes, RDC-XII chair, Rolando Doria, co-chair, private sector representative; Mayor Democrito Plaza III, RDC-Caraga chair, Lemuel Santos, RDC-Caraga co-chair, private sector representative, Gov. Parouk Hussin, REDPB-Chair, Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao.
Antalan also said that Region XI plans had been formulated but did not give details. He added that it had already passed approval by the Regional Development Council of Southern Mindanao. (PIA/pdb) [top]
