Cops: Keeping Davao safe, earning public trust

Davao City (28 January) -- Police Director General Edgardo Aglipay is very strict to members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) especially in implementing the laws on morality, keeping safe their own areas of jurisdiction and earn the trust of the public to men in uniform.
Calinan police precinct commander, P/CInsp Joseph Sepulchre, during the radio forum "Panibagong Bukas: Usapang Pangkapayapaan" aired over DXRP Radyo ng Bayan said Director General Aglipay is serious in implementing Republidc Act 8551, otherwise known as Immorality among PNP organization that erodes the image of the PNP.
" The PNP regional office has been conducting regular moral recovery workshops and innovative seminars that would make an impact on the lifestyle of the commanding officers and rank and file personnel of the PNP", Police Chief Inspector Sepulchre said.
He said the higher leadership of PNP plays a major role in instilling discipline to its members and Director General Aglipay seeks to professionalize the PNP.
During a command conference held in Davao recently Director General Aglipay, was quoted as saying that "what the PNP needs to do now is to become a more reliable, effective and trustworthy police force that secures the family and every community from all sorts of crimes and criminals at all times."
"PNP's cornerstone is building trust among our constituents by which the police force performance should be accomplished with optimum results. Our goal is to perform well with consistency and efficiency every minute of the day, to win the streets and keep our families safe from harm," General Aglipay said. (PIA-RPalacio) [top]
