Pag-IBIG members' records now accessible via Internet
Cagayan de Oro City (28 January) -- IN only a few minutes, the members' remitted records of contribution, multi-purpose loan data, and provident claims in other Home Development Mutual (Pag-IBIG) Fund regional offices can now be checked and viewed through Pag-IBIG Fund's Virtual Private Network (VPN) via the Internet.
"Verified data are now live and records are regularly updated for members' convenience," systems administrator Ben Rosendo Neri of the Pag-IBIG regional office in Cagayan de Oro said.
Several Pag-IBIG Fund regional and sub-regional offices in the Visayas (Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Legaspi, Bacolod, Naga), Mindanao (Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Zamboanga, Butuan, General Santos, Pagadian, Iligan), Luzon (Tuguegarao), and the National Capital Region (Cubao, Malate, Kalookan, Edsa East, Intramuros, Ortigas) are now directly linked via the VPN.
The VPN has brought enormous convenience, especially to housing loan borrowers whose records of contributions and loans are subject for certification from other regional offices. "Today, with the easy access using the VPN, the members status verification slip (MSVS) can be processed in one working day," said members services officer Rico Sagrado of Pag-IBIG membership contributions division.
Members services officer Marivic O. Elape of Pag-IBIG Fund's short-term loan division, said, "with the use of the VPN, Pag-IBIG Fund can now provide speedy service to MPL (multi-purpose loan) borrowers, whose records originate from other regional offices, but wishes to pay here in the Cagayan de Oro regional office. In just a few minutes, the computation for their loan payments or balances is made available."
Two years ago, the Pag-IBIG Fund Iloilo regional office pioneered the use of the VPN, while the Pag-IBIG Fund Cagayan de Oro regional office started using the VPN since May 2004. (Theresa C.M. Abejo, HDMF-10/Ragcom) [top]
