"Communist" solons should be ousted from the Plenary, says Army

PANACAN, Davao City (3 December) -- "Even if they continue denying their connection to the communist terrorist movement, congressmen from the Bayan Muna should be ousted from the plenary," Major Jose Maria Cuerpo II 5th Civil Relations Group Commander said.

Cuerpo said that Representative from this militant party list has been very bold in supporting their comrades especially when military operation is gaining headway from its anti-communist terrorist campaign.

"During the Palo, Leyte incident where their comrades fell, the NPAs' hid their firearms and identified themselves as plain farmers and the casualties suddenly became innocent "massacre victims". And now Bayan Muna cadre Mr Casino is now insisting on their fabricated stories solely meant to destroy the image of the Armed Forces and the Government. This is not the single time that progressive organization shouts massacre. In our region, an encounter happened in Davao - Bukidnon area last June of this year resulted to the death of a Davao student Jane Quintos, was immediately denounced by Karapatan that it was a massacre. If not for the publication of a statement of the Menardo Arce Command a day after the incident that indeed there was a legitimate encounter, Karapatan would still be shouting in the streets for justice," Cuerpo said.

He said that when NPA terrorists killed nine (9) soldiers in Iloilo early this month using landmines, use of landmines that left wounded 3 soldiers in Marihatag, Surigao del Sur last September, the use of landmines in ambushing a soldier and a CAA member on tandem in a motorcycle that wounded also the civilian driver in Davao del Sur last month, there have been no single comment from these "Honorable" communist representatives condemning such sinister act from the rebels.

Cuerpo added that people has the right to know where the pork barrels of these representatives are spent. They should account every peso spent after all, that money came from the people and should be return to the people through developmental projects and not to buy guns and bullets for the use of the NPAs or to support street protests calling for the overthrow of the government or the resignation of the President.

"As a citizen paying taxes regularly, we have the right to know where our money go and if such big amount of pork barrel went astray and are being used to destroy our own government then these congressmen should vacate their seat in the congress and be severely punished for treason, for cuddling and supporting the number one threat in our country," Cuerpo said.
