Davao City (3 October) -- The Philippine Government Employees Association (PGEA) is calling on all state workers to participate in a forum on "Bilis Pabahay" and "Angat Kabuhayan" on October 5, 2006 at the Sea Urchin Restaurant, Mamay Road, Lanang, Davao City.
PGEA national president Esperanza S. Ocampo in her letter invitation to all government agencies said the forum is held in response to President Arroyo's call of expanding the housing program to government workers.
Under Memorandum Circular 112, government shelter agencies are required to conduct Housing Fair with the public sector as the primary audience.
She said that through the forum maximum information dissemination would be made with regards to the "Bilis Pabahay and Angat Kabuhayan" to allow government employees to understand better the program for them to avail of the housing benefits.
Ocampo said each government agency is encouraged to send two representatives where their participation will be on official business.
The Housing and Urban Coordinating Council (HUDCC), chaired by Vice President Noli de Castro, initiated a special program to coincide with the celebration of the National Shelter Month this October.
A Housing Fair for the acquired assets of agencies involved in the housing program of government will be held in the different parts of the country.
The housing fair kick-off will be held in Davao City on October 5 and 6 at the Waterfront Insular Hotel. The simultaneous holding of the fair will be held on October 27 to 28 at the Glorietta Activity Center for Luzon and Metro Manila and in Cebu City for Visayas region.
De Castro earlier said that some 60,000 acquired assets of government shelter agencies will be offered for sale at affordable rates. (PIA XI) [top]
