Cops neutralize notorious robbery gang in Quirino province
AGLIPAY, Quirino (10 October) -- Joint police and military elements here recently arrested several members of a notorious robbery, theft and swindling gang that had been victimizing businessmen in various parts of the province, Quirino police director Sr. Supt. Pedro Cuntapay said.
"Rest assured that there will be no more robberies that will happen here," said Cuntapay, citing their arrest at Barangay Dungo here of the following members of the notorious robbery gang namely; Gloria Libid, 44; Leonora Mateo, 66; Leo John Fuentes, 16; Rolando Mercado, 30; Rommel Daligon, 28; Exequiel dela Cruz, 13; and Richard Carreon, 33, all of Tondo, Manila.
Cuntapay said the arrest of the suspects came after a victim reported the incident with the police. Other victims who reported to the police later identified the suspects as members of a gang which had been victimizing businessmen in the area through their theft and swindling operations.
Confiscated from the suspects were P40,000 in cash; six cell phones, three counterfeit P1,000 bills and several pieces of jewelry.
The two minors of the gang were also turned over to the office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) here. (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
