NYD gathers volunteers for orientation
Davao City (12 October) -- The San Pablo Parish hosted a one-day seminar workshop to all NYD volunteers of different parishes under Ateneo Catechetical Site, September 30, 8-4 pm.
The parishes that participated in the said event were the following: Holy Family Parish (Baliok, Toril), Ascension Parish (GSIS), San Lorenzo Ruiz (Talomo), San Isidro Labrador (Skyline), St. Francis of Assisi (Ma-a), Our Lady Lourdes Parish (Bangkal), and Sto. Rosario Parish (Toril).
Secretariat committee volunteer and facilitator Ma. Theresa Sarona, explained the NYD volunteers' roles, functions and the ideal characteristics. Another volunteer, Mr. Tony Bataoel also facilitated the orientation's parlor games.
Ms. Sarona remarked that NYD volunteers must know their specific role and function and master them."I am not requiring everyone to be an expert in giving of information, but let us equip ourselves to give proper service in the coming gathering," she further explained.
This is the first time where parishes gather to put up a certain level of readiness to hone the volunteers' skills in implementing effectively the plans of the event.
The next and the last batch of the orientation will be on October 7 at the Sacred Heart Parish, Obrero. (NYD/PIA XI) [top]
