19 vehicles allotted for Cagayan Valley police
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (25 October) -- 19 motor vehicles are set to be distributed to police stations in Cagayan Valley to improve the mobility of policemen in running after criminals and terrorists, police officials here disclosed Monday (October 23).
P/Supt. Ceasar Javier, police provincial director said the vehicles were committed by PNP director general Oscar Calderon during his visit to the region in August this year.
"These vehicles were already purchased and they are now in Manila pending the necessary papers for their release," Javier said.
Javier said he is very optimistic that at least 5 vehicles will be given in Nueva Vizcaya to augment the old vehicles used by policemen in the province.
According to Javier, the newly-purchased vehicles will boost their anti-criminality campaign and its internal security operation on insurgency.
Javier admitted that one of the problems of the PNP is the insufficient number of vehicles to be used in carrying out field assignments and response of policemen.
"Our priority stations here are those who do not have even one vehicle," Javier said. (PIA-NVizcaya) [top]
