People are looking for change - Rep. Garcia

Davao City (5 December) -- Davao City 2nd representative Vincent Garcia said people are looking for a change and are focused on basic issues such as eradication of poverty, better economy, to end up corruption, provision of basic needs and services, health care, ending up the use of prohibited drugs and kidnappings.
"It's hard work and honest services can elected officials repay their mandate from the people who voted them, he said.
As the Administration is serious in eradicating corruption, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, also implemented a revamp at the City Hall by reassigning officials and employees of the Business Bureau and the City Registrar's Office to other offices.
It's high time we should end up political bickerings or unnecessary discussion and instead support the government's efforts in inviting capitalists in our country, particularly in Davao City to invest and witness for themselves the countries potentials," he said.
The government's efforts are being done to improve tourism, transportation including airports in the country such as the Busuanga Airport in Northern Palawan and the P600-million fund to enhance the Mactan International Airport in Cebu.
In Davao, there are big potentials that could be offered to the foreign market International airlines are also continuing to forge partnerships with local tourism.
The Administration is serious in eradicating corruption, terrorism and poverty which are imperatives of peace and order. A peaceful country carries with it a good atmosphere for investment and development, Congressman Garcia said in an interview with local mediamen.
This Yuletide season is a sign of unity, forgiveness with each other and a preparation for the better tomorrow, he said. (PIA) [top]
