1001st IB commanding general meets Muslim leaders
TUBORAN, Mawab, Compostela Valley Province (6 December) -- To counter insurgency operation in the countryside, the 1001st Infantry Brigade will take a pro-active campaign among Muslim community.
Brigadier General Carlos B Holganza AFP, commanding general of the 1001st Infantry Brigade based in Tuboran, Mawab, Compostela Valley bared his plans to talk with the Muslim leaders to help and support the military in the maintenance of peace and order situation in the region.
General Holganza had already taken the initial steps towards gaining support among Muslim communities during Wednesday's Meeting with the Muslim Community Program an initiative of the City Government of Tagum led by Mayor Rey T. Uy in coordination with the 1001st Infantry Brigade held at Tagum Trade and Cultural Center.
The program was attended by different Muslim leaders of different tribes, Muslim youth sectors of the region, Office of Muslim Affairs representative, P/SSupt Jaime H Morente DSC, Provincial Director PNP Davao del Norte and Honorable Mayor Rey T. Uy.
During the occasion, Muslim audiences were also given time to ask questions during the open forum portion.
The affair culminated with a distribution of Certificate of Appreciation to the leaders by General Holganza assisted by Honorable Mayor Uy. (Civil Military Operations Group, PA/PIA XI) [top]
