Tacloban auctions delinquent real properties

Tacloban City (December 18) -- The City Government of Tacloban posted a notice of Public Auction of Delinquent Properties as required under the provisions of Section 260 of Republic Act 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 and Section 135 of Ordinance 99-58 of the City.

This was informed by Mr. Edgardo Macion, ICO-City Treasurer in a communication sent to PIA.

Mr. Macion said that the sale at public auction of delinquent real properties in Tacloban City will be held today, Monday, December 18, 2006 from 8:00 o'clock in the morning to 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon at the City Hall Lobby, City Hall Bldg., Tacloban City.

The list of delinquent real properties have been posted in conspicuous public and government places so that those concerned can verify if their real properties are included, Mr. Macion said.

He underscored that the general guidelines provides that all bidders pay One Thousand Pesos and post a 5% bond of his bid price. In cases where the winning bidder did not pay the bid price within the prescribed period, the cash bond shall be forfeited in favor of the City Government of Tacloban. All properties will be sold on "as is where is " basis.

Mr. Macion also said that the Auction Sale Committee does not warrant the authenticity or validity of the title of the declared owner not guarantee the correctness or accuracy of the description of the property.

He said that the buyer who bids for a certain property shall be deemed to have inspected the property and is aware of its physical and legal conditions.

The winning bidder, Mr. Macion said, shall immediately pay the bid price. Payment shall be made in cash or in Manager's/Cashier's check payable to the City Treasurer of Tacloban City.
