Secretary Yap to lead regional info caravan in Pangasinan

Pangasinan (22 January) -- Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap is expected to lead and open an Information Caravan on the Ginintuang Masaganang Ani (GMA) Programs especially on rice and corn tomorrow at the Don Guillermo Orbos Sports Complex in Sta. Barbara town, this province.

The nationwide Info Caravan aims to create continuous awareness among the agriculture stakeholders especially our farmers, on the government's food security programs and hunger mitigation projects, thus eliciting from everybody, active support and participation to the program's goals and aspirations.

The regional event, which will be attended by delegates from the four provinces of the region and key officials from the national and local governments, will have Pangasinan as host province.

OIC Regional Executive Director Flora D. Gagni of the Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Division (RAFID) said delegates from Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and La Union will convene in San Fernando City and proceed in convoy to Pangasinan.

Food Processing/Demonstration and Exhibit Booths will be open for viewing before the program proper starts at 9:00am. (PIA) [top]
