Construction and improvement of two road networks completed in Mindanao

by Moner Dayaan

Koronadal, South Cotabato (22 January) -- Construction and improvement of two (2) road networks linking the municipality of Arakan, Cotabato province and Bukidnon-Davao areas were completed late November last year.

The infrastructure project costing about P3-million was started June 30, 2006 and implementation of which was awarded to ACJ Construction Resources.

District Engineer Leonardo M. Martinez, Jr. and Assistant District Engineer Hadji Mamintal T. Taha told Philippine Information agency Wednesday of last week that the project was 100% completed.

Farm products from Arakan town could now be transported at a faster pace and less travel time to Davao City.

The project somehow serves not only the barangays of Salasang, Ladayon, Katipunan and Mapanlahan but as well as the municipality of Antipas and its barangays in which Arakan was originally a part of said town.

Like the construction and improvement of Meocan-Salasang-Katipunan road project, the construction and improvement of Binoongan-Napaliko-Katipunan road network also located in the municipality of Arakan now serves the barangays of Anapalon, Mantanghil, Binoongan, Napaliko and Katipunan.
