GRP-MILF coordination committee condemns bombings
General Santos City (23 January) -- The Joint Coordination Committees on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH) of Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP)and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF)denounced the bombing incidents last January 10 in General Santos City, Cotabato City and Kidapawan City.
In General Santos City, six died and 34 others wounded while in Cotabato City one died and three were injured In Kidapawan City, there were three injured victims.
In a joint statement the CCCH described the incidents as a dastardly and cowardly act which is a handiwork of barbaric, uncivilized and totally misguided people whose intention is nothing but to inflict serious injuries, destroy lives of innocent people and perpetuate instability as well as terrorism. This act is a crime committed against humanity and therefore, deserves the indignation of the entire human race the CCCH further stated.
The GRP- MILF CCCH expressed heartfelt sympathy to the victims of what they ascribe as satanic bomb blasts. Likewise, they said, they want to see the perpetrators of this inhuman act to be brought to justice.
The statement jointly signed by BGen Edgardo Gurrea AFP, chairman GRP-CCCH and Von Al Haq Chairman, MILF-CCCH also expressed belief that no amount of malevolent acts such as this spate of bombings by evil guided people or organized group can succeed to cow our people and our common desire to realize peace, development and human security (PIA XII) [top]
