Cotabato City (17 March) -- Vital functions of DOTC-Manila are now devolved to DOTC-ARMM.
Recently, DOTC-ARMM Regional Secretary Camid C. Gandamra signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with DOTC Secretary Leandro Mendoza in Manila to fully devolve seven (7) attached agencies to DOTC-ARMM.
Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB), National Telecommunication Commission (NTC), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) and Air Transportation Office (ATO) were devolved in accordance to Department Order No. 97-1113 based on the Executive Order No. 292 known as the Administrative Code of 1987 and Executive Order No. 435 of August 28, 1997.
In the devolution, LTO-ARMM is now authorized to register four-wheeled vehicles unlike before where said office can only register 2-wheeled vehicles.
The Regional Pots Management Authority (RPMA), LTFRB, ATO and other attached agencies of the said Department can now discharge its functions almost the same with that of DOTC-Manila. (PIA 12) [top]
