National ECCD officials visit Biliran to evaluate program

Naval, Biliran (5 June) - As part of the efforts to monitor the program implementation of the Early Child Care and Development (ECCD) in the province of Biliran, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) regional office jointly with the provincial government of Biliran are currently conducting a two-day review June 4-5, on how the program was implemented in the entire province.
The two-day activity is highlighted by the visit of the ECCD national officials who form part of the evaluation team who will go around to see for themselves how the program is implemented in identified areas in Biliran province.
In an interview with Ms. Flor Trani, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (PSWDO) of Biliran, she bared that the two-day activity is held at the Biliran Garden Resort in Brgy. Larrazabal in Naval, the capital town of the province.
She added that the activity aims to review and evaluate the program as the evaluation results will be made as the basis to improve and enhance the effective and efficient delivery of the ECCD projects in the entire province.
Furthermore she said that the findings of the evaluation will likewise become part of the inputs and basis in the preparation of the 2007 Work and Financial Plan of the said program.
She informed that the two-day program implementation and review (PIR) of the ECCD in Biliran province will also be highlighted by the actual visit of the National ECCD coordinator and the finance officers of the Central Working Committee (CWC) in Manila to the sites of the project.
The national ECCD officials who are now on a two-day trip to the province will conduct validation visits in the eight municipalities and its barangyas where ECCD-funded projects are implemented.
The implementation of the ECCD projects in Biliran province is expected to enhance the life and development of the children and youth in this particular area in Eastern Visayas. (PIA-Biliran) [top]
