PTWG members in Biliran attend strategic planning-workshop

Naval, Biliran (4 June) - In order to strengthen the smooth implementation of the Youth and Family life program in the entire province of Biliran, the members of the Provincial Technical Working Group (PTWG), a group organized to assist in planning the activities of this particular program, are scheduled to attend a two-day live-in Strategic Planning-Workshop on June 7 and 8, 2007 at the MacArthur Resort Hotel in Palo, Leyte.
The activity is also aimed to ensure a sustainable, synchronized and integrated multi-sectoral and inter-agency programs for the youth and adolescents and their families.
The two-day activity is expected to come up with doable activities and programs that would enhance the life of the youth so that they will become productive citizens of the province and of the country.
The strategic-planning workshop will be attended by some 30 PTWG participants composed of the representatives from the youth, government, academe, parents, catholic church and other religious and evangelical groups.
It was learned that the PTWG on responsible youh and family was created through Excutive Order No. 2007-006 which was issued in April 27 this year.
The members of the PTWG are mandated to address the prevailing issues and concerns as indicated in the results of the survey conducted by the University of the Philippines which were released in November last year.
The seminar-workshop is funded by the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) through Dr. Ferdinand Fernando, M.D. the GTZ expert who is coordinating the Youth and Family program in Biliran province. (PIA-Biliran) [top]
