Climate change Bicol forum set Friday

LEGAZPI CITY (14 June) -- The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will conduct a Regional Forum on Climate Change on Friday, June 15 at the Casablanca Hotel here.

Sponsored by the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) the forum is one of the activities for the observance of June as Environment Month with the theme "Beat the Heat! Let us Work Towards a Safer Climate."

EMB Bicol regional director Gilbert Gonzales said the forum aims to provide various sectors and decision-makers in the Bicol region a perspective on the issue of climate change and the underlying factors that causes such phenomenon.

The forum will also introduce the programs and initiatives of various institutions in the country and their relationship to global effort, Gonzales said. (EMB/PIA) [top]
