DCCCII, InWEnt to promote social management system

Davao City (6 July) -- A German institution in partnership with the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) will embark in promoting and implementing social management system (SMS) in Mindanao.
DCCCII president Atty. Domingo T. Duerme said the Davao business group tapped Internationale Weiterbildung Und Entwickling gGMBH to increase SMS awareness as part of Corporate Social Responsibility among Philippine-owned enterprises.
Duerme said the project will run for 16 months where InWEnt and DCCCII will jointly implement the promotion of the program, provide training and dialogue activities in some parts of Mindanao where both will promote the SEAL project through SMS.
The project focuses on caring for the employees for them to become productive although it needs a system as a tool for implementation, he said.
Part of the scheme is to hold foras with Chief Executive Officers of companies in some areas of Mindanao many of which are found in Davao, Cagayan, Zamboanga, Caraga.
The SMS he said sets basic standards on child labor, forced labor, health and safety, working hours, the right to collective bargaining agreement, compensation and management system.
A memorandum of agreement was signed between Internationale Weiterbildung Und Entwickling gGMBH based in Makati City represented by its Regional Director-Manila, Mr. Olaf Neussner and DCCCII President Atty. Duerme. (PIA XI) [top]
