According to Atty. Domingo Duerme, PAL Senior Assistant Vice-President for Mindanao, Davao and Cagayan de Oro are few cities in Mindanao which are attracting investors.

He said people are coming in to Davao. He said that PAL has at least five flights here in Davao connecting to the country's major hubs Manila and Davao. He said the airlines is using A330 wide-bodied, large-capacity aircraft to Davao.

Duerme said PAL is in the midst of a refleeting program where it will have an airbus fleet to make its parts inventory easier. PAL is acquiring state-of-the-art A319 aircraft which will have 126 economy class seats and 8 seats for Mabuhay class. The aircraft also features an inflight-Video entertainment in each seat.

The flag carrier is also acquiring new Boeing 777 wide-bodied long-range aircraft for its regional flights part of its ambitious refleeting program.

Promo packages are also being offered by the airline which includes the "buy one take one" promo in which purchasers of Mabuhay (business) class roundtrip domestic tickets entitles him to a free international roundtrip Fiesta-class tickets. (PIA XI) [top]
