Nephrologists hold free clinic for dialysis patients in Zambo Sur
Zamboanga City (August 15) -- The National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) in Manila is sending nephrologists alternately to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Hospital to conduct free clinic to patients with end stage renal problems.
NKTI Executive Enrique Ona, who hails from Pagadian City, is instrumental in the establishment of a Dialysis Center in the province. He donated 5 units of dialysis machines, and provided nephrologists to operationalize these hospital facilities and equipment.
Nephrologists are doctors of medicine who specialized in kidney ailments.
Dr. Atilano A. Ocampos, Chief of the Provincial Hospital said that three NKTI nephrologists will conduct free clinics in the said hospitals from August 13 to 27.
Atilano said that this is welcome news to the people of Zamboanga del Sur especially to kidney patients who could now avail of a very modest dialysis service.
Dr. Arlene S. Monuz arrived first and rendered free clinic since August 13 to 18 then Dr. Richard Hizon will hold his free clinic on August 20. He will also brief the public on the prevention of kidney disease.
Dr. Ocampos is encouraging kidney patients to grab of this rare opportunity of free dialysis services at the provincial hospital.
The care for patients who are financially hard-up to care for a dialysis is the primordial reason why Gov. Cerilles acquired dialysis machines for the province thru Dr. Ona.
Recipeint-patients of the free dialysis were given orientation session while others who want to avail of the service should immediately see Dr. Ocampos for details.
