107th CSC anniversary starts

Davao City (4 September) -- Civil Service Commission (CSC) XI Director 1V Annabelle B. Rosell said the CSC, being the central personnel agency of the government is celebrating its 107th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service which started yesterday with a Holy Mass at San Pedro Cathedral participated by government agencies, LGUs, government controlled and owned corporations, state universities and colleges.
With this year's theme as: "Itaguyod and Kasarinlan ng Career Service", various activities have been lined up to highlight the month-long celebration. Among them is the Blood Letting project as supported by Republic Act 7719 that promotes voluntary and non-remunerated blood donations and Medical and Dental Check-up.
Director Rosell is encouraging state workers to join this year's blood-letting by way of encouraging other individuals and other personnel of government agencies to donate blood as their donated blood would have l85 to 90% pre and post screening (new donors have 60 to 80%) acceptance.
Meanwhile, CSC XI Director 111 Lilia Clamor said medical and dental check-up for interested government employees will be held simultaneously with the blood letting activity at the Industrial clinic of the Davao Medical Center (DMC) at Bajada, Davao City.
Blood-letting is set on September 19, 2007 (Wednesday) from 8:00 to 11:30am at the Wellness/Narra room, 2nd floor of DMC main building, Davao City.
