Pampanga celebrates 107th civil service anniversary
San Fernando, Pampanga (18 September) -- Pampanga Governor "Among" Ed Panlilio recently led employees of the provincial government in commemorating the 107th anniversary of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in a flag raising ceremony at the capitol.
The month-long celebration was officially opened with the reading of CSC Chair Karina David's message to all public servants.
Panlilio emphasized David's message pointing out that "the life of public servants entails sacrifices" and how important their role is in effective governance.
David's message said that "behind the government's every travail are career officials and employees who provide the institutional memory and professional expertise necessary for the political leadership to sustain its direction and agenda".
This year, the CSC calls on all public servants to continuously face the challenge of public service and work for the betterment of governance on all levels.
Panlilio, for his part, emphasized the need to have a "capitol" that is clean "inside and out", insisting on a policy of transparency and honesty for everyone - from himself to each and every civil servant working there.
The governor is positive that his programs and projects, planned and implemented, would in time amount to more concrete assistance to the public, especially the indigent sectors of the population in the province.
The provincial government will likewise be an active participant in the series of events relative to the CSC anniversary for the month of September and an adherent to all civil service rules and regulations. (Pampanga PIO, PIA-Pampanga) [top]
