Villaviciosa hosts infocaravan in Abra

by Maritess Beņas

VILLAVICIOSA, Abra (22 September) -- The local government unit here hosted last week the first information caravan of the year in the province.

This infocaravan is in line with the Arroyo Administration's strong and steady effort to curb graft and corruption through administrative controls and procedural reforms which focuses on the provision of capability-building to the government's frontline providers in service delivery system. Said activity is conducted also in celebration of the 107th anniversary of the Civil Service Commission.

In her invitation to all the national government agencies and non-government organizations, Mayor Marjorie L. Lagen, the neophyte politician and a law graduate from the University of London, said she wants to sustain the vision started out by her father, the former mayor Jose W. Lagen, Jr. which had manifested itself into the realm of solid gains for the beneficiaries marked by full performance and landmark of achievements compared to past administrations and much optimism from the constituents.

This vision of her father now serves as the springboard of her even more ambitious dream for a "progressive and empowered Villaviciosa" that will be the measure of her constituents' success.

Lagen's hosting the first infocaravan in the province would provide the appropriate and adequate information that would open the doors for opportunities for the people of Villaviciosa to access and avail of the programs and projects the line agencies of government and NGOs could provide so as to effect a real and lasting development in the municipality.
