Robbers take away cash, checks, vouchers from Nueva Vizcaya town hall

VILLAVERDE, Nueva Vizcaya (October 1) -- Unidentified robbers took away cash and pertinent papers inside the five offices of the municipal hall at early dawn in barangay Bintawan here.
Sr. Supt. Segundo Duran, police provincial director said the robbers gained entry from the unlocked back door of the town hall at 3 a.m. Thursday and forcibly opened the six offices inside by detaching their door knobs.
"We are still investigating the incident since there are documents that were stolen. This might lead us to identify possible suspects," Duran told PIA.
The robbers took away at least P37,860.00 from the Municipal Accounting Office (MAO), Municipal Treasurer's Office (MTO), Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC) and the local Commission on Elections (Comelec) office. The offices of the Bureau of Internal Revenue(BIR) and Department of Agrarian Reform(DAR) were also opened but nothing was taken from them.
For unknown reasons, the robbers also carted away P17,000 – worth checks, vouchers containing the Representation and Transportation Allowance, wages and payroll documents and P12,200 cash from the drawers of municipal employees Crisanto Vaquilar, Arnold Pindog and Racquel Esquivel from the MTO.
Also taken were digital camera with tripod from the MCTC, thumb print taker and signature pad from the COMELEC.
Police only recovered from the scene a 16-inch screwdriver and finger prints which are now being processed by the PNP's Scene of the Crime Officers(SOCO). (PIA NVizcaya) [top]
