New PAF TOG-10 chief named

Cagayan de Oro City (4 October) -- Col. Jose P. Tanjuan, Jr. of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) has assumed leadership of the Northern Mindanao's Tactical Operations Group (TOG-10), 3rd Tactical Operations Wing (TOW) in Cagayan de Oro City.
He was Commandant of the Basic Military Training School (BMTS), Air Education and Training Command (AETC), Fernando Air Base, Lipa City prior to his post as Group Commander of TOG-10 replacing Lt. Col. Raul L. Del Rosario who has been promoted.
His previous assignments included those of a helicopter pilot, flight training instructor, flight commander, squadron commander, guest lecturer, deputy and acting group commander of the 505th Search and Rescue Group, (SRG), Villamor Air Base, Pasay City, among others.
Born in Hagonoy, Bulacan, Tanjuan was a consistent honor student in both elementary and high school and was a B. S. Mechanical Engineering Freshman at the Bulacan College of Arts and Trade (BCAT) when he entered the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) where he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in April 1985.
He took up the Specialized English Training (SET) at the Defense Language Institute, English Language Center in Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas, USA, in 1998.
In the same year, he took up the Communication & Information Officers Course at the 333rd Training Squadron, 81st Training Group, 81st Training Wing, 2nd Air Force, USAF, Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS, USA and the Defense Resource Management Course (DRMC) at the Defense Resource Management Institute, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California, USA in 2002.
He was also Chief of Mission of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Team, Fiscal Year '03 Foreign Military Financing Counter-Terrorism Modules Development Workshop at the 1st Special Forces Hqs., US Army, Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington, USA.
He received the MBA Gold Medal for Highest Academic Distinction for graduating Summa Cum Laude, degree of Master in Business Administration from the Jose Rizal University in Mandaluyong City in 2006.
Tanjuan is a recipient of various awards that include the PAF Aeronautical, Command and Senior Pilot Badges, Silver Wing Medal (SWM), Military Commendation Medal (MCM), Military Merit Medal (MMM), Civic Action Medal, Distinguished Service Star, Award of the AFP Marksmanship Badge (Pistol) Expert Category and Long Service Medal with One Bronze Star, among many others.
