Davao City (11 October) -- Women employees of the provincial government office as well as walk-in clients of the LGU can now find the first ever Women's Wellness Lounge inside the provincial capitol.
Chairperson of the Committee on Women Board member Maricar Zamora-Apsay has pushed for the said project as she understood the needs of women employees and clients who need to address both responsibilities at work and as mothers.
"This is one project that we thought to be very supportive to our mother employees and at the same time we believe that it could improve productivity of our workers.", she said.
A project of the Provincial Nutrition Office and the Provincial Council of Women, it provided a small room to cater to the needs of women especially those who are pregnant and lactating mothers.
The room is equipped with facilities such as sofa bed, rocking chair, crib, television, reading materials, and refrigerator. Zamora-Apsay said that it is a perfect answer to the needs of lactating mothers where they could privately have their relaxing "time-out" moment.
The lounge has a refrigerator to accommodate the storage of extracted breast milk of the working and lactating mothers as they enjoy the privacy of the room; and a crib for those who bring their babies with them.
The province of Compostela Valley recognizes the importance of women in nation building and that among all rights of women, being a mother is the most important of all.
Zamora-Apsay urges all employees in the provincial capitol as well as walk-in clients to maximize the Mother's Wellness Lounge located at the Provincial Nutrition Office, 3rd floor, Capitol Building, Cabidianan, Nabunturan. (PIA XI) [top]
