Bacolod starts month-long anti-measles drive on October 15
Negros Occ. (12 October) -- The Provincial Health Office aims to immunize more than 207,000 children in the province from measles for the whole month between October 15 to November 15, according to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Luisa Efren.
Provincial medical teams will conduct a "door-to-door" immunization to reach as many children as possible, said Dr Efren.
The teams will be composed of a vaccinator, a guide and one who will document the activity. They will be seeking out children aging nine to 48 months old to administer measles vaccine, vitamin A capsule for six to 72 months old kids and de-worming for 12 to 71 months old.
In Western Visayas, a total of 670,000 children are expected to be vaccinated in an effort of the government to eliminate measles in the country. (PIA-LOL) [top]
