Ombudsman holds Davao roadshow Friday

Davao City (17 October) -- The Office of the Ombudsman-Mindanao will hold a road show this Friday (October 19) at the Holy Cross Gymnasium, Davao. This is part of the agency's National Anti-Corruption Program of Action.

Different government agencies will gather and set up their booths in the said gym to deliver a day-long one-stop shop service to the public.

The mobile service will start at 8 in the morning until 5 pm. One of the government offices that will render mobile service is the Philhealth which will provide PHIC forms. Philhealth personnel will process membership applications as well as accept payments for individual-paying members.

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will bring in their GWAP machine for activation of Ecard plus. Clients could also apply for consolidated loan and cash advance, policy loan, and inquire for unreleased burial claims and pensions.

The Social Security system (SSS) personnel will also be around to issue SSS number application, change of member's data, salary loan, and digitized social security card. The public can also verify on their membership, loans and contributions.

Passport application will also be processed in the Department of Foreign Affair's booth. Applicants must only bring authenticated birth certificate, 3 passport size pictures, marriage contract, and passport fee of P600.

Clients may also process their licenses for business name, product standards, real estate practice, and other service in the DTI booth.

The Land Transportation Office will also render service for renewal of motor vehicle registration, and issuance of student permit.

Another booth is intended for the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for the renewal of professional IDs, request for certifications, authentications, and state board verifications.

Other government agencies that will participate are the Department of Tourism, National Bureau of Investigation, DCWD, LTFRB, DSWD, Philippine National Red Cross, and the Ombudsman. (PIA XI) [top]
