4 ICT-based SMES locate at ICOT Park technology business incubator
Tacloban City (October 18) -- The Technology Business Incubator which was launched on October 17, is now hosting four local ICT related small and medium enterprises of the province of Leyte.
The Technology Business Incubator or TBI for short, was launched by the Provincial Government of Leyte and the Department of Science and Technology, in order to assist starting entrepreneurs in the field of Information Technology through the provision of space and equipment facilities, business development and technical services.
The four ICT-based Small and Medium Enterprises which are operated by very young entrepreneurs, include SUGOI which is owned by Pablo Go; ESCA-KVCC which is operated by Architect Kendell Esperas; POS Technology which is owned by Jayson Pascual and the Softwise Business Solutions which is owned by May Ann Go.
As explained by DOST Regional Director Edgardo Esperancilla, the four locators can stay at the Technical Business Incubator for a maximum of two years in order to establish themselves, their system and their clientele or when they are ready to be on their own.
Director Esparancilla informed that the Technology Business Incubator at the ICOT Park could accommodate six locators at one time. This means that with the four locators already in place, two more locators could be accepted.
Meanwhile, the provincial government of Leyte is likewise giving assistance to these starting companies by providing them a free venue for a number of months at the Leyte Academic Center.
Governor Petilla believes that just as he continuously encourage international BPO and IT business to locate in the province, he is equally encouraging local entrepreneurs to go into the IT Business as well.
