Anti-poverty group meets to reduce poverty incidence in Region 8

Tacloban City (October 23) -- The convergence group of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan (KALAHI) of Region 8 met at the Ritz Tower de Leyte, Tacloban City last week to collectively look for apt solutions to operational issues and concerns arising from the implementation of various sub-projects under the KALAHI, the anti-poverty program of the present administration.
Determined to reduce poverty incidence in Region 8, the Regional KALAHI Convergence Group – 8 (RKCG-8) discussed extensively the issues concerns and implementation bottlenecks hampering the KALAHI sub-projects.
The two-day deliberations resulted to the identification of responsible agencies which will respond to the issues/concerns and bottlenecks presented during the meeting.
Concerns and bottlenecks tackled were the maintenance of school buildings sub-project, functionality of Botika ng Barangay within the Barangay Health Stations sub-project, supplemental feeding in day care centers sub-project and maintenance in water system to name a few.
RKCG-8 conducts regular consultations with members/partners to resolve problems arising from time to time while implementing these sub-projects.
