DOLE XI launches Angel Tree
by RG Alama
Davao City (25 October) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region XI (DOLE XI) will soon launch the Project Angel Tree under the Philippine Program Against Child Labor (PPACL). The project is a community assistance endeavor which aims to grant the wishes of the beneficiaries who are child laborers.
Project Angel Tree is a vehicle for providing child laborers and their families' wishes for assistance. The wishes may come in the form of food, clothing, shelter, livelihood/educational/training/ medical assistance. The aspirations of the beneficiaries and the response of kindhearted individuals is symbolically represented by the Angel Tree.
Through Project Angel Tree life can be made more meaningful to child laborers-beneficiaries by way of granting their wishes and helping them meet their immediate needs and at the same time give the public and other donors an opportunity to share their blessings with the child laborers.
The Launching of the Project Angel Tree is slated to be held this October 30 at the Audio-Visual Room of the University of the Immaculate Conception (Bonifacio campus).
