Military service awaits patriotic applicants
Tacloban City (October 31) -- The call has been raised for qualified male applicants who wish to serve their country through the military service, Captain Mario Jose M. Chico, chief of the Division Public Affair Office of the 8th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, informed.
Male applicants are now being recruited, since October 17, to undergo Candidate Soldier Course as a pre-entry course to the military service, at the Headquarters of the 8th ID at Camp Lucban, Catbalogan City.
To qualify, applicants must possess qualifications such as at least 72 units earned in college; high school graduate who possesses technical or special skills needed by the AFP.
The applicant must be single and without a child; at least 5 feet 4 inches in height; must be of good moral character and not less than eighteen years of age but not to be 23 years old on the date of their expected enlistment.
The applicant must be physically and mentally fit for training and must pass the AFP Test Battery exam with a weighted average of 80%.
The qualified applicants must must report for processing to the Procurement Branch, OG1, 8ID, PA at Camp Lukban, Catbalogan City and bring along the required supporting documents.
Among the supporting documents needed are the AFP Test Battery exam result, birth certificate (NSO copy with receipt), Marriage contract of parents (NSO copy with receipt), School credentials (Diploma and Transcript of Records), Local Clearances (Barangay, Police, Mayor, Municipal Trial Court, Court of First Instance Certificate of Non-Pending Case, NBI clearance, Certificate of Being Single, Certificate of Parents Consent, and 2 x 2 id pictures and two (2) whole body pictures.

The AFP Test Battery Exams are scheduled on November 5 and 6, 2007 8:00 o'clock in the morning to 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon at the 804 Community Defense Center at Leyte Colleges, Tacloban City and on November 7 at the Headquarters, 8ID, Philippine Army at Camp Lukban, Catbalogan City.
