Giant Solidarity Ring for Comval kicks off

Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province (6 February) -- The preface of the creation of the giant two-toned gold and silver ring for Compostela Valley was formally unveiled in yesterday's (Feb.4) partial turn-over of the physical precious metals.

During yesterday's regular Monday convocation at the capitol lobby attended by the provincial employees and officials led by Gov. Arturo T. Uy, vice Governor Ramil Gentugaya and the board members, a partial turn-over of 299.5 grams of gold and 500 grams of silver was held.

"This will be the start of the fulfillment of the giant Solidarity Ring," said Gov. Uy who also bared that more pledges are coming to complete the estimated more than a kilo of gold that will be used for the Solidarity Ring. The pledges came from Comval political leaders, private sector and individuals who are impressed by the unity of the people of Compostela Valley led by its provincial politicians.

The partial gold in yesterday's turn-over came from Mt. Diwata brgy. officials, Mr. Bebot Uy, Nabunturan local officials led by Mayor Macario Humol, RG Corporation of the Gentugaya in Monkayo, Mount Diwata Abantero Corporation (MDAC), Nelson Tata Sala, Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Vice Governor Ramil Gentugaya aside from his personal donation, Mr. George Culaste of the Diwalwal Artesian Entrepreneurs Cooperative (DARTECO) and governor Uy who chipped-in 50 grams of refined gold.

DARTECO also donated the 500 grams of silver which would complete the 2-tone giant solidarity ring that Comval government will showcase on its 10th Founding Anniversary and 1st Bulawan Festival comes March.

Gov. Uy said solidarity is a term that is synonymous to camaraderie, cohesion and unity. He said it signifies team spirit and oneness in vision and objective in which Comval leaders are heading to. Governor Uy has been praised and cited for his unified government that give Comval political stability.

Right after the governor's reconciliation with Monkayo Mayor Manuel Brillantes and Brillantes with 1st district Congressman Manuel Way Kurat Zamora, the people of Comval rejoiced in jubilation. This signaled the idea of making a symbolic thing or a replica that would seal the political unity of Comval leaders and its people. And this is the Solidarity Ring which will be made of minerals that made Comval more famous--- the gold and silver.

This is not just about the physical gold and silver that is abundant in our province, this is also about the golden heart and character of the Comvalenyos as well Gov Uy emphasized. (PLP-PIA XI) [top]
