German foundation to fix Panabo school building
PANABO CITY (13 February) -- Germany-based Filipino foundation has chosen to pour in funds for school building repair in Davao del Norte.
Maria Philippines Foundation (MARIPHIL) of Germany recently donated P 3.6 million to renovate the Kauswagan Elementary School Building in Panabo City.
Kauswagan Elementary School is the second school in Davao del Norte after Tubod in Carmen, which MARIPHIL has chosen to benefit from its philanthropic drive in the Philippines.
MARIPHIL president Martin Reister who personally came over to Panabo to pledge the donation, said that his foundation had chosen Kauswagan Elementary School "because it badly needs repair."
Reister, however, made it clear that his main desire "is not to build a school but to send kids to school."
During the recently held ceremonial rites to start off the renovation, Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, Sr. expressed appreciation for the German foundation for its efforts in assisting the Philippines achieve quality education. (Panabo CIO-PIA XI) [top]
