Isabela gov scores GMA critics for resign call
Cabarroguis, Quirino (February 29) -- The governor-son of Rep. Junie E. Cua of this province joined the country's provincial chief executives in cautioning the critics of the Pres. Arroyo to observe strictly the rule of law amidst the growing clamor for the chief executive to resign from office.
Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua, together with his father Rep. Junie E. Cua, rebuffed calls for the resignation of the President. The younger Cua was among the 52 provincial governors who issued the reminder at the New Executive Building in Malacanang after they called on President Arroyo and express their full support for her.
The Quirino governor, for his part, appealed to all government officials to observe strictly the rule of law.
"Ito pong mga batas na ito ay hindi ginawa ni Pangulong Arroyo, ginawa po ito ng mga naunang mga kongresista, sa Senado noong mga unang panahon pa. Due process of law is mandated by the constitution. Kami po ay nanininwala sa tamang pamamaraan o proseso. Great nations have been built, laws and policies are observed. Sana po ay irespeto natin iyan", Cua said.
The young governor said that the President had not interfered in any legal proceedings whether in the Senate, Congress or the Courts.
"I believe personally that the President is not interfering in any legal proceedings, in any Senate investigation and this should give credit to her being impartial and for her objectivity. Tama po itong ginagawa ni Presidente hindo po nakikialam sa anumang imbesitigasyon lalo na sa mga desisyon ng korte", he said.
Cua urged the opposition group and government officials to act like professionals. (PIA Isabela) [top]
