Davao City (29 February) -- A Davao BPO Property Forum will be held on February 28, 2008 at the Davao Convention Center.
The summit is through the initiative of the Davao City Information Communication Technology in partnership with the Davao City chamber of Commerce.
The Forum aims to develop additional IT areas in Davao City and also to inform the businessmen of the opportunities available in the city.
Lizabel Holganza, Chairperson-ICT Committee, said that Davao City needs additional areas because businessmen are looking for IT-ready areas. Some business investors who are willing to invest in Davao backed out because of the unavailability of IT areas.
The speaker of the forum are Secretary Ray Anthony Roxas Chua III of the Commission on ICT, Mr. Oscar Sanez, President of Business Process Association of the Philippines (BPAP), Robert Teo of Davao City Investment, and Mr. Elmer San Pascual of the Philippine Economic Zoning Authority (PEZA).
On the local setting the ICT Committee together with the Davao City Chamber of Commerce are working on forming a solid ICT Council.
Holganza said that they are still on the process of developing a master plan which will be based on the research data in Cebu City.
This summit will help in the growth of business in Davao City. (PIA) [top]
