PGMA to grace Davao Sur's 41st anniversary

Davao City (1 July) -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will visit the province of the new Regional Peace and Order Council Chair Davao del Sur Governor Douglas Cagas in time for the 41st founding anniversary of the said province.
The President is expected to arrive at the Davao City International Airport at 9:30 am where she will directly board another aircraft for Don Mariano Elementary School, Digos.
The first event she will be attending is the inauguration of the Out-Patient Department and 50-bed capacity of the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital at Lapu-Lapu Street. PGMA will lead the ribbon cutting and unveiling of the marker for the P6-million facility.
The said facility is part of the P22-million upgrading of the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital which is funded by the Comprehensive and Integrated Infrastructure Program.
To assist the president in the unveiling are Governor Cagas, 1st District Representative Mark Cagas, 2nd District Representative Franklin Bautista, Digos Mayor Arsenio Latasa, and DOH regional director Dr. Paulyn Rosell-Ubial.
PGMA will then proceed to the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium in Matti for the 41st Founding Anniversary celebration of Davao del Sur.
The President is expected to deliver a speech before an estimated 4,000 crowd that includes local government officials, religious groups, and other guests.
She is also scheduled to administer the oath of office of Governor Cagas as the new Chairperson of the Regional Peace an Order Council in Region XI.
PGMA will then have her lunch at the Provincial Capitol conference room before she will leave for Iloilo to preside the cabinet meeting at the NEDA VI regional office and also conduct an aerial inspection of typhoon "Frank" affected areas. (PIA) [top]
