DSWD convenes Davao Region solons

Davao City (12 July) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), working towards the attainment of equal opportunities for disadvantaged individuals, families and communities, recently gathered all congresspersons in Davao Region and their chiefs of staff in a Legislators' Forum.
DSWD Budget Officer Teresita V. Mercado and Focal Person on PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund) Cynthia N. Umbaņa presented the Report on PDAF Disbursements and Utilization as well as Status of Unliquidated PDAF Transfer of Funds.
Participants were also oriented on other DSWD programs like Livelihood and Crisis Intervention. Moreover, Assistant Secretary Mateo G. Montaņo of the General Administration and Support Services Group discussed COA Circular 001 and Memorandum Circular No. 24 otherwise known as The Guidelines on PDAF Management and Utilization.
To showcase their best practices, representatives from the offices of congressmen Prospero C. Nograles and Isidro Ungab shared their experiences along PDAF project implementation.
The national government provides funds to DSWD through the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for it to effectively deliver its mandate and ultimately attain its Vision, Mission and Goals. On top of these funds, the department is granted PDAF to augment its funding.
