Davao Oriental holds seminar on basic customers services

By Ms Neela G. Duallo

City of Mati, Davao Oriental (16 July) -- In consonance to the thrust of the provincial government of transforming the bureaucracy, the 12th Sangguniang Panlalawigan held a Seminar on Basic Customers Services on July 9, 2009.

The seminar facilitated by Mr. Juanito Gamalong of the Civil Service Commission, CSC-Davao Oriental embarked on the proper ethics of public service, of the traits a public servant should observe and show, particularly in dealing with people making transactions at the Sanggunian office.

Vice-Governor and SP Presiding Officer Mayo Almario was happy with the full cooperation of his Board Members and their staff.

'I am amenable for corrections and suggestions. As your Vice-Governor and Presiding Officer, I will see to it that all of us will follow work ethics. We have to entertain politely throngs of people making transactions at the Sanggunian," he said.

Almario reiterated that customers must be treated well since it's the people who catapulted them into office, and the taxes that the people are paying are sources of their wages.

He is optimistic that the seminar will result to a more effective and efficient service of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

The seminar confirms to what he earlier emphasized that the lawmaking body enjoys it's impendence while maintaining their support to the thrust of the provincial government gearing towards more development.

It started at 8 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon, at the Sanggunian Session Hall, Government Center, Dahican, City of Mati. (PIA) [top]
