Comval gov thanks family, co-workers, working force on 56th natal day

Davao City (25 July) -- Comval Governor Arturo "Chiongkee" Uy celebrated his special day with a simple yet memorable program among his family, colleagues and co-workers last Tuesday, 22nd day of July.

"I thank my caring mother, loving wife and family for their support to all of my undertakings especially in my pursuit of good governance. And for my colleagues and friends in the public service for the same endeavor of nurturing our newly achieved unity," the 56 year-old governor said during the program.

"My gratitude to all my working force (referring to the Capitol employees) for sharing the same enthusiasm of giving good services to the people as they are the extension arm of the chief executive in the delivery of basic services to the entire province. And finally, I thank the Lord and the whole Comvaleņo people for giving me the chance and strength to govern this province," he further said.

For his part, the governor wishes himself a good health, to be able to sustain unity, and a peaceful and happy living of his people, and the success of the local peace initiatives.

Party Chairmanship

The governor considers his appointment as Comval Lakas-CMD chair a very honored and precious gift of trust from political leaders and party mates. According to him, it entails a huge responsibility to handle and difficult to deal people with diverse interest.

He, however, accepts the challenge by adopting his philosophy in life, sharing his favorite food for thought.

"Smooth roads never make good drivers, smooth seas never make good sailors, clear skies never make good pilots. And a problem-free life never makes a strong and good person."

The governor then enthused, "Be strong enough to accept challenges of life. Don't ask, 'why me?' Instead, say 'try me.' Have a tough but winning life." (GMC, PGO-IDS) [top]
