City of Mati, Davao Oriental (31 July) -- Veering towards a more efficient and credible service for the Mati-PNP, a crime laboratory will rise in the City of Mati, as earlier declared by Mayor Michelle Rabat.
Mati Chief of Police, Police Sr. Inspector Candido Suralta reported that by next month, the crime laboratory building for the City of Mati is already for execution, as approved by the Lady Chief Executive.
In one of the Provincial Peace and Order Council meetings, Rabat revealed her plan of putting up a crime laboratory in the city in aid to the Mati PNP.
"I feel the necessity of one, as we must fast track the delivery of our services, particularly in solving crimes," she said.
Suralta is grateful to the Mayor for the untiring support of the city government.
"This will be of great help to our work, answering time constraints and as the Mayor said, fast tracking the delivery of services. Through the crime laboratory, we no longer have to go to Tagum City. The examination of evidences gets done here," he added.
Crime laboratory manpower includes a ballistician, medico legal officer, fingerprint expert, and a chemist.
Mati PNP is now at the verge of implementing security measures, because there is really a need to do so.
"When will we move, if the damage has been done? I am very particular with this, because logically, we are here to protect the people," he emphasized.
On July 30, Mati PNP conducts a Bomb Awareness Enhancement Seminar to help the people understand about bombing incidents, embedded with proper precautions, and what things to do should a bombing incident takes place.
The move came after the bombing of a Metro Shuttle bus in Digos City last week.
Suralta and his men always believe that there should be no room for complacency if they want their work done effectively and efficiently. (DXHM City of Mati/PIA XI) [top]
