Living Heritage Center of indigenous peoples opens Wednesday

Davao City (13 August) -- The Living Heritage Center of Philippine Indigenous Peoples opens today August 13, 2008 (Wednesday) at 4:00pm at the Pamulaan Center for Indigenous Education, University of Southeastern Philippines, Mintal campus, Davao City.
The center will serve as a venue for advocating the promotion and protection of IPs rights through thematic exhibition, workshops, symposia and conferences.
It will also highlight the Indigenous knowledge, systems and practices while at the same time present the different current realities and challenges faced by the IPs.
A signing of IRR-MOU will be done during the program and cultural presentation will be held at the amphitheater multipurpose hall.
Representatives coming from the academe, government agencies and non-government organizations (NGOs) were invited to witness the event.
Organizers of the opening are the Pamulaan Center for Indigenous Peoples Education, USEP, Mintal campus, Davao City.
