MOA signing for coalition Vs TB set August 21, says DOH

Davao City (21 August) -- A memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing on the coalition against tuberculosis today (August 21) Thursday this morning at the DMC gym, Bajada, Davao City will highlight the culmination of the monthlong observance of the Lung month.
Department of Health (DOH) Asst. Health Secretary and concurrent regional director Dr. Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial said the whole day culmination activities of the Lung month will end today (Wednesday) with a thanksgiving mass at 8:00am at the DMC gym.
All sectors are requested to bring mass offerings in kind or cash. Sectoral programs will follow after the mass with the oath taking of newly elected officers of the Davao City Coalition Against Tuberculosis (DACICAT); MOA signing and the recognition of best performing DOTS facilities health centers, DOH retained hospitals and PPMD units and treatment partners.
In the afternoon, there will be an Intersectoral TB Quiz bowl.
Government's vision is to have a TB free Davao region in the near future, said ASEC Rosell-Ubial. Its attainment will only be through our continued collaborative efforts with the grace of God upon all of us, Dr. Ubial added.
This year's theme for the August observance of Lung month/National TB Day is "Stop TB: Kaya Mo, Kaya Ko."
Earlier, there was a Barangay Leaders Forum on TB for barangay captains, Kagawad on Health of Davao City held at the Mahogany conference room of DMC; Distribution of TB flyers and lectures on TB by the Regional Alert Committees sector members; and forum by sectors on the barangay levels.
