Houses razed by lawless MILF group

Iligan City (9 October) -- An undetermined number of houses were burned by lawless MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front) group last Monday (October 6) at Barangay Daplawan, Datu Saudi Ampatuan Municipality in Maguindanao Province.

The perpetrators were led by Commander Ayob Dicolano and a certain Commander Wahid, troops from the 62nd Division Reaction Company immediately responded and subsequently sighted the rebels consolidating at Barangay Gawang in the same municipality.

The 64th Infantry Battalion fired three rounds of 60 mm mortar at enemy positions at Sitio Tina in Barangay Gawang same Municipality.

Meanwhile last Sunday (Oct. 5) troops from the 37th Infantry Battalion along with elements of the Philippine National Police (PNP) recovered two rounds of 60 mm. Mortar shells and two rifle grenades placed in a pack bag at SID Trading Junk Shop in Parang, Maguindanao Province.

The junk shop is owned by Radsid Mantawil at Barangay Talisay, Poblacion 1 in the Municipality of Parang.

While Frudencio Falconite of Sitio Malatique, Barangay Paradise, Banisilan, South Cotabato Province, surrendered two 60 mm mortar shells to elements of the 69th Infantry Battalion during the conduct of community work in the area. (PIO EMC/PIA) [top]
