Tacloban City (October 12) -- It is funny that at this time when the whole world is bracing against the threat of the looming financial crisis, when the leaders should be preoccupied into making contingency plans to cushion the impact of the crisis on the people, the detractors for the nth time announced their filing of an impeachment case against President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

It is hoped that if and when the impeachment case is accepted by the House of Representatives, it will not disrupt the passage of the important pieces of legislation. Otherwise, what a waste of people's money!

It is a pity that up to this time, the detractors have not learned to listen to the voice of the Filipino people who are no longer biting impeachment moves, who want to send a strong message for the dectractors to spend their time on things that are productive and for the good of all especially the disadvantaged and the needy.

The Filipino people are sick and tired of too much politics, what they are craving for is positive moves that would improve their standard of living and will raise them as a people.

As one local chief executive said," the issues in the impeachment case which will be filed are old ones, has been tackled at the expense of government and people's money. Nobody is interested in those anymore."

Knowing how the she works, the people knows that the nth impeachment move will not prevent the President from pursuing the course of economic growth and development for the country and its people especially at this time of global financial crisis.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo herself has said time and again that no amount of political noise will divert her attention from her task of growing the economy and improving the lives of the Filipino people.

The President has initiated measures to caution the impact of the world economic crisis especially on the lowly Filipinos. She will see to it that these measures which have been put in place will really be implemented.
