LMGs attack Sultan Kudarat village; 4 civilians killed
ICC General Santos City (14 October) -- Armed men believed to be lawless Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) group (LMG) harassed a village in Sultan Kudarat killing four civilians and wounding three others.
Army's 6th Infantry Division spokesperson Lt. Col. Julieto Ando said rogue MILF members attacked Barangay Sangay in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat at around 4:30 Saturday morning (October 11).
Killed were Polinio Alberio, 46; Reynan Cabarobias, 60; Diosdado Cortado, 55 and Edgar Cortado, 20. Injured were Joeyboy Bartolome, Jesusa Araniego and Danilo Gonzaga, Ando said.
The pillaging MILF members also held Councilor Luis Colao and Roel Suma as captives.
MILF leadership denied its involvement as an organization in the latest attack in Region XII.
Ando assured that elements of the Army's 64th Infantry Battalion had already been deployed to augment police personnel and the Regional Mobile Group (RMG) in the area.
