2nd Human Resource National Convention slated in Davao

Davao City (14 November) -- Close to 300 human resource head of multi-national corporations will meet in Davao City for the 2nd HR National Convention.

Haya M. Amper, section manager of the Marketing and Customer Service of TUV SUD PSB Philippines, Inc. said the convention aims to enhance and develop further capabilities of HR practitioners in the Philippines.

Amper who is also the conference director said that the event is spearheaded by HR Philippines, the country's premier online community. This is in coordination with the Productivity Improvement Circle Association of Southern Mindanao (PICASOM).

The event on November 20-21, 2008 will be held at the Brokenshire Resort and Convention Center in Davao City.

She said the two-day event aims to create a significant venue for the enhancement and development of Human Resource.

"We want to bring together HR practitioners and advocates from all over the country to share HR knowledge and best practices.

Amper said they want to bring down to the lowest HR staff this opportunity so they would be able to enhance their capability.

Although they haven't thought of any proposals during the first convention, she said there will be resolution this time that will center on concerns that will develop HR to be able to address global issues.

She also said part of the discussion is on the employee intention and the succession management.

Meanwhile. she said among the topics to be taken up are on Strategic Human Resource, QMS Framework to Improve HR Efficiency, Employee Retention Program, Performance Management, HR on Government Service, Career Exploration and Planning, Future Proofing: Succession Management, Outsourcing: Key HR Services, Quality Circle Projects for Human Resource.
