Region 6 broadcasters in seminar saddened by death of facilitator

Bacolod City (18 November) -- Sadness overcame the 3-day Orientation for Region 6 Broadcast Executives on Responsible Parenthood and Natural Family Planning on November 14, 2008 in Bacolod City when one of the facilitators, John Hilada, an Information Officer from Region 6's Commission on Population (PopCom) died early in the morning before the 3rd Day of the orientation began.
Hilada, a known natural family planning practitioner and advocate, did not finish his lecture the day before on "Fertility Awareness and Natural Family Planning Methods" when he felt a severe stomach ache.
He was brought to a nearby hospital but discharged in the evening when the doctor ruled out appendicitis and is given medication as an outpatient.
The broadcasters were surprised on the next day when they went to the Conference Hall of the hotel on the next day to find out that Hilada has been rushed to the hospital with no vital signs.
The orientation's closing program continued although every participant had been emotionally affected by the loss.
In honor of Mr. John Hilada, all the participants gave their commitment to the advocacy of Responsible Parenthood and Natural Family Planning. (PN) [top]
