Feature: Colors of a spectrum
Davao City (21 November) -- "COLORS OF A SPECTRUM" is the first photography workshop and exhibit for persons with Autism in Davao City.
This project was conceptualized by Mr. John Chua, a renowned photographer and considered one of the best in Manila, who started a passion among volunteer photographers/hobbyists to make a difference in touching people's lives by advocating for autism through photography.
The objectives of this event are to help children/adults with autism express the way they see their world through the pictures they take; to create a higher level of public awareness and understanding about autism and to give opportunities for companies to carry out their corporate social responsibility.
For the Davao event, Mr. Chua coordinated with the Autism Society Philippines- Davao City Chapter, and with Rhonson Ng, Davao's coordinator for the photographers who are willing to share their time and skills. Around 100 participants composed of children with autism, parents, volunteer photographers and media will be joining this workshop.
This workshop/exhibit shall be undertaken in cooperation with Eden Nature Park and Resort, Canon Philippines, Fanatic Photographers' Society of Davao, Alsons Properties, Bachelor Express, SM Davao, Centrex, ABS-CBN, Philippine Daily Inquirer and Bulletin Today.
The photo workshop is on November 22, 2008 while the exhibit will be held on the 3rd week of January 2009 during the celebration of the National Autism Consciousness Week.
After the event, Mr. John Chua will hold a free photography workshop among the volunteer photographers in Lispher Inn, sponsored by Canon.(PR/PIA XI) [top]
